The sun is shining (although its still cold) and the weekend is just hours away. As you read this you’ll no doubt be counting down the minutes to the end of work, so let me help pass a few minutes and offer some links from the weeks best news.

The Turndog Tales is back people after a week off (I apologise), and I’m ready to rock and roll. So let me start things off and show you article number one.

Give Your Blog A Kicking

Not in a bad way, rather in a manner to help you create original content even when your mind is doing nothing but serve up crap. Natasha Murhev offers six tips to keep content fresh, and some of these sites/tools were completely new to me.

They’re certainly worth looking at so click on through and learn something new.

The Future of Reading

Craig Mod provides a great insight into the future of reading, and overall a very moving piece that’s sure to make you feel excited and good about yourself. He recalls how he got into reading, how he reads now, and how he thinks we may read in the future. I love hearing stories like this as it truly helps me think about your own experiences.

Fall Back In Love

This is a truly great article from Jeff Goins and one of my favourite pieces in the last few weeks. We all have things we love, but also falter from time to time. As someone who’s worked at a sports club I’ve supported for years, I can testify to this.

Jeff writes a great article and I seriously suggest you take a peek. You won’t regret it!

Is You Self Pub Book upto The Test?

We can all self-publish, but the big question is should we?

Catherine Ryan Howard tells a tale of putting your self-pub work to the test and seeing if it passes the grade. Writing is hard and reading is too, especially if you have to read crap. Most people won’t read crap and not finish something they don’t like. This post discusses these high standards and haves you asking yourself if your work is ready.

So… is it?

Make Your Blog BIG

Chances are you have a Blog. I do, and these days most other people do too. Having a good Blog and one that climbs the charts is tough, but Neil Patel gives a few tips on how he took Quick Spout to where it is now (quite high if you didn’t know).

Problogger offer great posts daily, and this is one of the best recently… in my opinion anyway.

Writing an E-Book? Buy An E-Reader!

The advice here is simple, but I bet quite a few don’t take it.

If you’re creating an E-Book then why not buy some books on various devices. Just because you read via ipad, doesn’t mean others won’t read via a Kindle.

Deanna Knippling tells it how it is and provides some advice we should all really take. I read on my ipad these days, but should I stop there? What about kindle and the iphone, and various other formats too?

The ‘Bloody Hell, Are You Kidding Me’ Article

There’s always one and this week (well, the week before actually) is you can’t sue a family over unwanted Facebook photos.

I mean come on people, really? We all have crap photos of us; it’s part of the experience of life. Does it suck? Yeah, sure. Does having them appear on Facebook for everyone to see also suck? Yep, it sure does, but do we really want to start suing people over this kind of thing?

Craziness!
