Involving sponsors in The Successful Mistake puts me on edge. I have a background in sports sponsorships, so I’m aware how soulless and fake they can be. I don’t wish to advertise or promote a service or company I don’t love or use, so once I decided to involve a few chapter partners in The Successful Mistake, I insisted I wouldn’t compromise:

• I WILL ONLY INVOLVE BRANDS I USE
• I WILL ONLY PROMOTE BRANDS I SING THE PRAISES OF ALREADY
• I WILL NOT LOOK AT READERS AS CONSUMERS, SO WILL NOT TREAT THEM AS SUCH
