There are many many many websites in the www.
There are many many many many that are great for aspiring authors
This isn’t a comprehensive list, but it does include 5 websites that offer all-round value for writers just starting out. These websites are a coaches best friend (if we use a sporting analogy) because they provide versatility.
They aren’t just great at fielding, but batting and leadership and smart thinking, too
They don’t just score goals, but add assists, hard work, and track back to tackle
These website offer the aspiring author some true value. All under one small roof. This is a great strength to portray, especially to those with little time to spare.
5 Great Sites For The Aspiring Author
First of all, I must confess, there are many worthy websites that haven’t made this list. I decided to cut it off at 5 so I wouldn’t add to your already crazy schedule.
As someone searching for reviewers, fellow writers, tips on publishing and formatting and designing…well, these sites have saved my bacon. Raises your glasses to:
30 Day Books
I came across Laura and her awesome website via Facebook. In fact, I think she found me, and boy am I glad she did. This site is jam packed with goodness. It isn’t an Oreo Cookie, but a double-stuffed Oreo Cookie with whipped cream on top.
Many things are discussed. It’s ten websites in one, so make sure you head over and check Laura and her team out.

Galley Cat
This isn’t a small up-and-coming site. It’s a fully grown website brimming with experience and good times. It has power and strength and authority. But that doesn’t mean it’s too big for its own good.
Galley Cat offers amazing content each and every week. I’ve found it particularly useful for it’s info on the publishing industry and other writers. It adds around 5 new stories to my Blogroll each day (which can be annoying), but I usually find at least one interesting post.

Wise Ink
This is fairly new to my daily routine, but I love it all the same. Writing tips, publishing news, launch ideas, book marketing expertise…yeah, the list could go on.
These guys and gals have some serious awesomeness going on. If you add this site to your Blogroll you will save yourself some time in the coming months. You know it makes sense 🙂

The Passive Voice
Maaaaannnnn this guy must spend all day searching the web. Every single day he shares truly outstanding pieces of content. His forte is on publishing, but there’s always a few stellar examples of writers, books, and other great sites to find top info.
Not only that, he always adds his own thoughts, which are usually rather apt. To not have this on your Blogroll is liken to heading to a wedding without a hip flask of whiskey.

Digital Book World
This website is a great place to go for anything book related. It offers great commentary on the publishing world, and some of the articles I’ve come across have been a great source of info and inspiration.
It also happens to be home to a few cool minds. It shouldn’t take long until you fall in love with this site

And there we have it, 5 versatile website every aspiring author should follow.
As I say, there are many many many more to venture toward. But, if like me, you’re searching for reviewers, writers, readers, publishers, agents, authority figures, key industry news, and a whole host of other important writing lark, well, you can’t go far wrong with the above list.
Can you add to it?
